Sorry. Running late. Lots of work done this morning. Much more to do tomorrow morning.

OK guys. I saw a trail of contentious back and forth in last Monday's Live Handicapping thread.

My purpose in starting this thread when I do is for me, and anyone else who wants to, to handicap as the races are live. You should have noticed by now that I post my play in a way that anyone who wants to follow along can understand immediately which track I am playing, which race, the amount bet, and the type of bet. I also try to total all the bets I just made and leave the total amount I bet on the race. I also try to give an estimate of how much time is left before the race goes off.

After the race I quote the original bet post and make clear if I lost or if I won I make t clear what won and I do the math for that / those bets. I then clearly add or subtract from my running total to that [point in the day.

In essence I want this thread to be completely transparent. I want honest postings pre-race and I want an honest record of the results computed in a running record as we go along.

Melniko and Gravy do a great job of adhering to the spirit of the thread.

There are several other guys who come in and post as well from time to time.

I'm not trying to impress anyone. I have no nefarious agenda. My agenda is to simply handicap the way I would with my friends at the track. Others are welcome to participate as long as they post with the same intent with the goal of complete transparency. When the thread is running properly and we have time we'll often have interchanges between participants re expectations for the race and why, and discussions after the race. Often we congratulate each other. If guys have benefitted from other guys' postings they will often say thank you.

I personally root for all and any participants to succeed. I's a civil, gentlemanly thread. It seems that I'm not the only one enjoying it as others have joined in who really don't handicap in the thread. Beach and Joe come to mind but there are others who pop in on occasion to thank someone if they played along successfully.

It's a good, happy, thread with horse race lovers all interacting on different levels similar to what happens when I go to the track.

But......

Yes, yes I guess you sell your services. Honestly, I didn't know that. I personally don't have a problem with that if you are successful for your clients. Expertise gets rewarded in all fields in life. I have no problem with handicapping either sports or horses being rewarded in similar fashion.

But....

I have been on these boards for near twenty five years and I know that many (I'd guess about half the posters) do not like or appreciate when touts come onto the specific sport rooms, this being "Horse Race Handicapping". There is always controversy in threads when "touts" participate.

So....

Yes yes, please refrain from posting here going forward. Your style of posting does not fit this thread anyway. Rapid posting, often obscure tracks, some domestic, some foreign, some overseas. And you post so rapidly that no one can keep up with your successes or failures without making you the singular focus of the thread. You can't keep up yourself. That in and of itself violates the spirit of the thread. It's best if you post in your own thread.

I will always wish you to be successful just as I do for everyone else I interact with on these boards or in real life. But for the sake of harmony I need to ask this of you.

Thanks, and good luck to all.
